Siegfried's Gilded Ballroom is delivered as five static lighting states, each corresponding to a distinct dramatic beat within Act 3 of Swan Lake.
LX 1 opens the act in warm gold - a royal celebration at dusk, the room alive with candlelight and opulence. LX 2 shifts cooler and more formal as the foreign princesses are presented, the atmosphere settling from festivity into ceremony. LX 3 marks Rothbart's arrival, the interior turns cold and menacing, gobo shadows fall across the drape, and the crest at centre stage commands the room. LX 4 moves into the seductive heat of the Black Swan pas de deux, the room washed in deep purple and magenta. LX 5 closes on fracture, a cold diagonal of light cuts across the scene as the deception is revealed and the Prince realises his betrayal.
