Ornate Baroque columns rise beneath a gilded arch, candlelight catches the marble and gold, and beyond the tall windows the night deepens as the evening unfolds.

This scene was designed with the full emotional arc of Act 3 in mind. From the warmth of a royal celebration through the cold fracture of Rothbart's revelation, the five lighting states track the drama beat by beat, the ballroom shifting in atmosphere while remaining the same physical space. The same room that opens in opulent festivity closes in darkness and consequence.
